Granny Scholz, the mid-wife who delivered "The greatest batsman the world has ever known" Sir Donald Bradman on 27th August 1908, operated a small private hospital in the front room of the building at 89 Adams Street. The birthplace has been restored by Cootamundra Council. Sir Donald Bradman is an Australian sporting hero and his achievements on the cricket field from 1928 to 1948 are still among the world's best. He's the only Australian ever knighted for services to cricket. Cricket memorabilia on Sir Don and local Cootamundra teams are on display. Bradman lived at Yeo Yeo, between Cootamundra and Stockinbingal for the first few years of his life.
