The Bordertown Visitor Information Outlet is located within the Bordertown Bakery in Tolmer Park. The Outlet is open seven days a week and is an addition to the old police station. Outside, the Old Gaol toilet block is worthy of an often necessary stop. Another outlet open six days is at the Tatiara Council office which is a short walk from the bakery.
Tolmer Park is a delightful place to take a break and appreciate the district's spectacular red gums and natural beauty. The park was named after Police Inspector Alexander Tolmer who led gold escorts from the Victorian goldfields to Adelaide during 1852 and 1853; this saved the infant state of South Australia from bankruptcy.
