From life drawing and live music to fabulous food and outdoor Tai Chi, North Sydney Community Centre’s (NSCC) Open Day has something for everyone.
Every year they open their doors in November, giving local residents a chance to discover the wide-range of events, courses and community services on offer at NSCC while enjoying a day of free entertainment.
This year’s Open Day has a festival feeling, promising to be the biggest yet with free workshops, creative demonstrations, live music, market stalls and family fun to include an animal farm, colourful craft and face-painting.
Sample some of the many creative courses offered including pottery, life drawing, Lumifold lantern making; contribute to the historic community ceramic tile wall; partake in some yoga, Tai Chi or hoola hooping in the park; listen to an impressive line up of student and professional musicians; watch artistic tutors at work making origami, lino printing, expressive painting and sketching or enjoy a cooking demonstration with one of the many talented cooking tutors.
To end a wonderful day, make a toast to the closing of the NSCC’s student and tutor art exhibition between 6pm and 8pm and peruse the artworks with some available to buy....
