A spectacle usually seen only in metropolitan areas, the Jacaranda Dragon Boat Races held on the beautiful Clarence River in Grafton is the largest regional dragon boat event in New South Wales. With over 30 teams competing in a variety of categories, this is an event well supported and loved by locals and visitors alike.
Held in late October, at the beginning of the famous Jacaranda Festival, the riverbank is dotted with purple and the whole of Grafton is alive with festivities. With the river front abuzz with the sights, sounds and colours of over 1500 people, it's a delightful day out and worth a visit.
